Awww - if it makes you feel any better you're not alone. I have a form of dyslexia called dyscalculia which affects both visualise and conceptualize numbers. If I have a calculator I'm usually okay on basic math (but I can't do even simple math in my head - I just can't 'see' the numbers well enough) but forget things like alegebra.

Math gives me nightmares - it's actually the reason I ended up dropping out of college the first time. :( I couldn't do it, felt stupid and was too embarrassed to ask for help.

*hugs*

You know, I've been wondering if I have a mild form of dyscalculia. I do have difficulties seeing the numbers properly if I don't really concentrate. I always have to double-check everything, especially if there's a long series of numbers, because I frequently get them mixed up. And I can't just look at a number as see what it is, like... 436 or whatever. I can't see that it's four hundred and thirty six until I actually 'spell it out' in my head.

I can do really simple math in my head, but it usually takes twice as long as for other people. :p I sorta have to do the finger counting, only in my head, heh.

And I also feel embarrassed asking for help sometimes, because... gah. :( I'm sorry you dropped out of college because of it, but I totally understand it.
