What have I ever done to deserve this?
My employers have fled the country and left me to boss around the underlings - wonderful! I just had my Evil Laugh perfected, when...
I fell grieviously ill and was thus rendered incapbable of exercising my newfound power.
Woke up one morning - which also happened to be the one morning of the week when I start work early, and thus spend the night at work - with a sore throat and feeling horribly sick and with a high fever. Dad had to come and pick me up. Turned out to be food poisoning. The sore throat returned with full force the moment I stopped feeling sick and the painkillers only sort of dulled the pain, but did not make it go away entirely. Eating was difficult. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, my right ear decided to prove me wrong and have an ear infection. Left ear soon followed suit. And just as an added bonus, I haven't been able to sleep much the last two nights because of a persistent cough.
All in all, I spent a full four days in bed, but have now graduated to couch (another four days) and even paid work a quick visit yesterday. They're direction-less and overworked, but they have been amazing and pulled together and managed to get things done, despite none (!) of the ordinary staff being present. And we're talking 16-18-year-olds here.
Still, all in all, not the best week of my life. :/
