Today's the day! I've been taking pictures for that photo diary meme that's been going around, and since I already have the camera out and am currently so. very. bored, I thought, hey, why not COMBINE two memes? In the name of efficiency and all.

I'm so SMART I sometimes scare myself.

So, remember that "tell me what to photograph and I'll.. do it" (duh) meme? Yeah? Well, go ahead. Give me orders, people!

Go here and vote for and/or add your favourite piece of man-candy to the list.

I wish I still had that Lucius Malfoy pimp stick icon... Naked!Mal will have to do.

So, Fox cancelled New Amsterdam, right? After something like only six episodes, IIRC. Six episodes, that's nothing! It's just a taste, a teaser, an appetizer. Then why have the Swedish Channel 6 bought the series and are airing it this spring? It's completely cruel and unnecessary to all the viewers who just might fall head over heels in love with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau the series.

And okay, if they were running it at 1 am in the mornings after the reruns of Married with Children, fine - but no, they're airing it during freaking primetime and running radio commercials non stop to promote it.

WTF, Channel 6?!

I'm browsing dafont.com in search of a specific font. Slow work that is less mind-numbingly boring than you'd think, thanks to hilarious fonts like the Penic Masturbata.

Now, I had just scrolled past a font called Limp Noodle without really paying attention to it, and I wouldn't have paid any attention to Penic Masturbata either, if my eyes hadn't caught on the lower-case I (i) and the thought "no limp noodles there!" hadn't crossed my mind. But since they did, and it did, I had to take a closer look.

And now I just kind of really want to use it for something. It is kind of cutesy, right? Never mind that most characters look like double-ended (or triple or even quadruple-ended) dildos.

Any ideas?

Finally!

I have an analysis to write that is due tomorrow morning 9 o'clock. I haven't even read the thing I'm supposed to be analysing.

Oh, you all, I am such a doofus.

I had the OH-SO-BRILLIANT idea to make cinnamon buns, but here I am now with a big fat DOUGH and no way to actually MAKE THE BUNS. Because I do not own a rolling pin. There must be something else I can use? Something cylindrical, but I cannot think of WHAT.

Any ideas?! I AM DESPERATE. Common household item... I tried a glass, but it's sort of cone shaped and it.. just didn't work...

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I got nice stuff (we do the present opening on the 24th in Sweden) and had a good time, la la, but. BUT. I am now catching up on Stargate Atlantis, because I finally have the TIME and my flat is fucking PRISTINE, and I am free to spend the day however I want to, and...

MAN, I have MISSED SGA. From Sheppard's first snarky line, I have been filled with JOY. This is the best Christmas present ever!

I know I'm a dork, shut up.

has apparently been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. Did you know this? I had no idea. :( :( :(

But who but Pratchett would make me laugh out loud while reading an Alzheimer's announcement. An embuggerance, indeed.

I have neither the means (no TV) nor the inclination to follow Swedish Idol, but a comment made on a forum I visit made me go youtube-ing for videos of the final three contestants. I didn't like any one of them very much. What I am wondering is WHY THE HELL THIS GUY is not one of them?!

Singing You're the Voice, Imagine, The Scientist, Grace Kelly, Baby one more time, Roxanne, Livin' on the Edge, I don't feel like dancing, a bad quality Live and Let Die, and California dreamin.

SERIOUSLY, SWEDISH PEOPLE. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. D: D: I especially like... okay, let me put it this way, Grace Kelly, The Scientist and Imagine were good, the others, I kind of almost loved. <3 Okay, so I especially liked his take on Baby one more time, he gave it a seriousness I didn't think it had.

<3 <3

The fan fiction thing? I kind of blew that, believe it or not. I had to use an article about real person fic written about a popular Swedish artist (another Idol contestant, heh) as a starting point, so I kind of went into bandslash (YEAH I KNOW WTF) and LotRiPS, and via a little side trip into Dan/Emma to Harry Potter and TV show fic. But I made the mistake of thinking I didn't have to really prepare this thing, as I know the subject inside and out, which meant I was kind of rambly and unfocused. >.< Teacher said that what I said was good, but it took me too long to actually say it, so I... passed. But that was it. Which kind of sucks, since I've got an A on everything else.

But that's irony for you! Scraping a pass the one time you actually know what you're talking about, and getting A's when you're just pulling things out of your ass.

Okay, okay

I just have to post about this because, guess what, guess what? Tomorrow, as part of a test, I am to give a presentation, and the topic that was given to me was...

FAN FICTION.

AHAHAHAHAHAH!

Hey, Mac users of friends list! Have any of you upgraded to Leopard yet? Because I did so on the MacBook a while ago and it went without a hitch, everything just worked. Like the ads say!

However, I just upgraded the iMac, and suddenly it stubbornly refuses to connect to the wireless network. It seems to be unable to detect the network at all, or at least I think it is... the network showed up once in the list of available networks, but when I couldn't connect to it (kept telling me I had the wrong password! The audacity! Computers these days, honestly.) and restarted Airport, the iMac wouldn't even list it. It can't even detect the base station.

If this doesn't get resolved I'll have to downgrade back to Tiger. LE SIGH.

/geek talk

In less nerdy news... I have none. I'm doing well in school, yay?
moa: upside-down teddybear (good day)
Long time no see.

I have been busy with school and watching TV series on the computer (how about 7+ seasons of SG-1?), but two things bring me to the LiveJournal update window.

1) I received a nudge from [livejournal.com profile] jules1278, and one cannot ignore nudges, it's bad luck. Right?

2) I read something so incredibly FUNNY - to me - that I just had to post about it. C&P-ing from an email I sent, 'cause I am lazy must get back to my studies. *nods* I've just had today's first laugh. Two laughs, actually. A Swedish newspaper had an article about one very famous British author - JK Rawlings, ever heard of her? She can't be that famous, I don't know who she is. I found a blog entry about this article, which also mentioned how the very same newspaper talked about "shorts stories." Is that a new literary genre? ;)

Thoughts and hugs for [livejournal.com profile] hildigunnur.

Now that my iTunes library is connected to decent speakers, I'm going through an Audioslave/Chris Cornell phase (with a leeetle bit of Soundgarden thrown in for good measure). GOD HIS VOICE. It's like. EARGASM.

I promise I'll stop spamming LJ with nonsense entries... soon. ish.
moa: upside-down teddybear (headphones)
I am now wirelessly streaming music from my computer to my stereo.

This is BEYOND AWESOME.

And, also, um, thank you all for the comments on my entry about Plaisir. <3
moa: upside-down teddybear (headphones)
So, I just ran into someone I knew ages ago, and we stopped to share hi's and the kind of awkward small-talk you do when you haven't seen someone for years and even then didn't know each other very well, or at all really aside from... you had similar music preferences.

You know, kinda rock snobbish?

And he stood there in his - which made me laugh a bit, because some things never change - AC/DC tee when he spotted my little iPod shuffle and wondered if the sound really was any good, and I handed the headphones to him and said, decide for yourself (which really was a bad idea, because the sound has taken a turn for the worse since the iPod saw the inside of the washing machine).

What I think he got to hear was the last tunes of Korn's "Evolution," (I HOPE ANYWAY 'CAUSE OTHERWISE >.< ) and the first of... I can't even write the artist.

But the track's title is "Toxic."

I am being a good girl and doing HOMEWORK. But I've run across an unexpected problem. Reading about Athens and Sparta, my mind substitutes Sparta with SPARTAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! )

In antiquity SPARTAAAAAA!! was a Dorian Greek military state ... city-state devoted to military training, SPARTAAAAAA!! possessed the most formidable army in the Greek world ... centered at the city of SPARTAAAAAA!!, though the name "SPARTAAAAAAA!!" is now used for both. The Kings of SPARTAAAAAA!! were believed to be ...

Honestly.
